Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Maintenance Team Leader to oversee a broad maintenance, repair and service scope across building fabric, electrical and mechanical engineering and electro-medical equipment.

The role focuses on day-to-day operational management of the Estates (Electrical) department, delivering PPMs and reactive work to targets, ensuring compliance with HTMs/HBNs and relevant standards, and maintaining the departmental risk register.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking complex testing, fault finding, and commissioning on engineering plant and equipment across all trades.
• Respect for Health Technical Memoranda; performing non-routine activities as required.
• Conducting surveys or audits within specialist areas including condition surveys.
• Planning and prioritising maintenance projects, liaising with users, contractors and Project managers.
• Proactively participating in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
• Supervising on-site contractors to ensure works meet Health and Safety legislation and specifications.

The post holder will provide team leadership for an effective and efficient maintenance repairservice to a high quality on the full range of building fabric, electrical and mechanical engineeringand electro medical services, plant and equipment to the Trust properties

Taking responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of Estates department (Electrical),for the Performance of the team to meet Trust targets for PPM and reactive work and first-timefixes. Working to ensure breakdowns & planned preventative maintenance work undertaken iscompliant with relevant legislation and guidance including NHS Health Technical memorandum(HTM's) & Health Building Notes (HBN's) British Standards, European Standards whilst developingand managing the departmental risk register

Main duties of the job

• The post holder is responsible for undertaking complex testing, fault finding, andcommissioning on engineering plant and equipment across all trades.
• To be responsible for, and work in accordance with, Health Technical Memoranda.Performs work including activities that may be demanding or non-routine
• The postholder will undertake surveys or Audits within specialist areas includingcondition surveys.
• Responsible for the planning and prioritising maintenance projects including liaisonwith users, contractors and Project managers.
• To proactively participate in the operation and control of engineering plannedmaintenance schemes.
• To supervise contractors who undertake works on site ensuring all such work isundertaken in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, Good Practice andconforms to specification
