Job summary

SP Energy Networks is recruiting for a Site Manager (Electrical) to lead substation construction across Central and Southern Scotland. You will oversee contractor performance, health and safety, and technical delivery on complex transmission projects, ensuring work is on time and to specification.

Qualifications

• Electrical transmission or distribution substations experience.
• High-voltage construction, maintenance or commissioning experience.
• Managing contractors and construction activities on complex electrical infrastructure projects.
• Working within live substation environments under Electrical Safety Rules.
• Interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and construction specifications.
• Managing site safety and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Coordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve project delivery objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities across multiple construction fronts.
• Ensure contractor compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Monitor progress against plans and milestones.
• Provide technical oversight and site leadership during construction and commissioning.
• Review methodologies to align with designs and specifications.
• Manage site records, inspections and quality documentation.
• Support commercial management including time, cost and productivity.
