Job summary

City Facilities Management Limited is seeking a maintenance technician to perform planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first line for maintenance issues, request specialist attendance when needed, and ensure all technical and compliance paperwork is kept up to date.

The role includes a 24/7 call-out rota and interaction with the on-site customer to maintain service quality.

Qualifications

• GCSE/Standard Grade minimum
• NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds 236 Part 1+2 in electrical installation/maintenance
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (new)

Responsibilities

• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure paperwork is completed accurately.
• Respond promptly to service calls from Helpdesk and assess requirements before carrying out repairs.
• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
• Deliver reactive and planned fire alarm system maintenance.
• Conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
• Follow purchase order process.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise Line Manager with replacement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance documentation is up to date at all times.
• Advise on-site customer of issues likely to affect site operations.
• Carry out surveys and prepare reports for City management.
• Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence per specifications.
• Complete general repairs and maintenance on customer sites as designated.
• Attend training courses to keep skills up to date.
• Comply with Health and Safety Policy and represent the company professionally.
• Be part of a 24/7 call-out rota.
• Maintain quality standards and relationships with City and customer staff.
• Log material spending and purchasing.
