Job summary

Caval Limited is seeking an Electrical Site Manager to oversee a major student accommodation development in Manchester. You will lead electrical subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring safety, quality and on-site programming.

This freelance role runs for 12 months+, offering hands-on site leadership on a live residential project and close coordination with project managers, consultants, and other trades. Strong SSMS knowledge and CSCS/First Aid experience are required; SMSTS preferred.

Qualifications

  • SMSTS qualified with valid CSCS card and First Aid at Work.
  • Experience leading electrical subcontractors on live construction sites.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
  • Manage operatives and daily site activities.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, storage and allocation.
  • Oversee electrical subcontractors and QA procedures.
  • Liaise with project managers and other trades.
  • Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to support the delivery of a major student accommodation development in Manchester. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering 12 months plus of work on a high-profile residential scheme.

  • Identify and resolve site issues to minimise programme disruption
  • Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture across the site team
  • Coordinate labour, materials, and resources to maintain programme targets
  • Manage health and safety documentation and site compliance requirements
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and standards
  • Support the successful delivery of the project through effective planning and coordination
