Job description

SMart4EPC is partnering with a leading M&E contractor in the construction industry to find a talented Electrical Site Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for a driven individual with a strong focus on execution, quality, compliance, and safety. As a key member of the project delivery team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the electrical package on-site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to spec, and to the highest standards.

Role Overview:
The Electrical Site Manager will take ownership of all electrical works on-site, managing subcontractors, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with both safety and technical standards. You'll play a critical role in driving progress, maintaining quality, and ensuring smooth handovers during key project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Management & Communication:
- Maintain a detailed Site Diary and report on daily progress.

- Lead DABs (Daily Activity Briefings) and toolbox talks.

- Act as the primary site contact for the electrical scope, ensuring clear communication with the client, consultants, and project stakeholders.

- Oversee and sequence electrical installations, aligning them with mechanical and structural activities.

Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for all electrical activities.

- Ensure compliance with British Standards, building regulations, and site-specific safety procedures.

- Manage storage, delivery, and installation of electrical plant and materials in line with specifications.

- Coordinate with QA teams to ensure BCAR and testing requirements are met.

Project Commercials & Planning:
- Validate the scope and procurement needs after handover from estimating.

- Support the procurement of materials and subcontractors.

- Assist with managing change control, variations, and cost tracking.

- Create and manage short-term (e.g., 3- and 12-week) look-ahead programs.

Quality Control & Subcontractor Management:
- Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.

- Supervise subcontractor performance and track progress against milestones.

- Report delays or issues to project management with proposed solutions.

- Attend and support all testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce a culture of health and safety excellence on-site.

- Complete regular safety walks and observation cards.

- Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.

- Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar Electrical Site Management role within the M&E or construction sector.

- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and best practices.

- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Navisworks) is a plus.

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and tight deadlines.
