Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking a Site Installation Technician to work on electrical systems for water treatment works and pumping stations. The role spans head office in Southampton and UK projects, with occasional travel and staying away.

You will ensure compliance with UK regulations, health & safety standards, and project specifications while supporting multi-disciplinary site teams and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Current JIB/ECS card is essential.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Experience on industrial/heavy industry electrical installations (min 2 years).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, wire and commission control panels, MCCs and related equipment.
• Carry out terminations, modifications and repairs per drawings and specs.
• Support electrical testing, fault-finding and commissioning activities.
• Onsite fault finding and modification of electrical control systems.
• Create risk assessments, method statements and site paperwork.
• Build and wire backplates and control panels in the workshop when off-site.
