Location – Dalston, Cumbria
Salary: Approx. £58,000 (inclusive of shift allowance and contractual overtime) + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits
Shift pattern: 4 on/4 off – 2 days, 2 nights followed by 4 days off.
Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Shift Technician to join our team based at our Beverage factory in Dalston. You will support the factory in ensuring timely and efficient completion of maintenance and compliance-driven tasks and management of a small industrial services team who support the business across the whole site.
Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate. The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes.
A day in the life of an Electrical Shift Technician
As a shift technician, you will be a key point of contact for all technical matters on shift across the whole factory. You will work to drive improvements in the performance of machinery and assets, technically support the shift leader, and develop the technical skills within the engineering and operational teams.
You will be expected to play a key part in the move from reactive to proactive maintenance. Responsibilities include prioritising work in accordance with production plans, responding to breakdowns within the plant, and contributing to the upkeep of all relevant technical documentation.
What will make you successful?
You will have strong engineering ability along with initiative and attention to detail. Experience of modern manufacturing techniques such as 5S, LEAN, and TPM would be ideal.
