Role: Electrical Shift Technician

Location: Birmingham

Mixed 12-hour shifts

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is recruiting an experienced Electrical Shift Technician for their Birmingham site during a period of significant growth.

As an Electrical Shift Technician, you will be part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, working collaboratively to perform breakdown and preventative maintenance safely and professionally.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Adhering to all safety rules and requirements.
  2. Performing routine daily preventative maintenance checks.
  3. Collaborating with Production Team Leaders, Shift Technicians, and Operators, reporting findings to your Departmental Team Leader.
  4. Taking responsibility for specific areas to understand their operation, maintenance needs, and safe systems of work.
  5. Ensuring all tasks are documented with relevant work orders and risk assessments.
  6. Completing planned and unplanned maintenance promptly.
  7. Acting as a communication point during maintenance activities.
  8. Participating in projects to improve, extend, or modify equipment for better efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Requirements:

  • HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (Essential)
  • Experience in heavy industry, with knowledge of 3-phase control systems
  • PLC fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of Isolation Procedures
  • Understanding of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement techniques
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to self-organise, prioritise, and meet deadlines
