A leading building materials company located in Sheerness seeks an experienced Terminal/Shift Supervisor with an electrical engineering background. About The Role
We are a new company in the South East UK, specializing in the import and handling of cementitious products. We are establishing what will be the largest independent cementitious products terminal in UK in Sheerness, Kent, to cater to the demand in the SE market.
Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced and skilled Terminal/Shift Supervisor with an electrical engineering background to join our team and support all operational aspects of our cementitious products terminal operations.
As a Shift Supervisor, your key responsibility is for the supervision of a small team and for the safe operation of unloading imported cementitious ships and loading out of flat stores onto day silos and thereafter to road tankers. We are looking for someone with an electrical engineering background to assist in operations and maintenance onsite of our pneumatic ship unloader and terminal product movement. Working on a mixed roster of both days and nights this role will allow real work life balance.
Your electrical discipline will be called upon to help organise the site and ensure large equipment is working at its best capability, and troubleshooting to ensure the site operation can proceed efficiently.
Essential:
3 years’ experience in electrical jobs
Electrical Engineering.
Daily Electrical inspections of site and equipment.
Maintenance of equipment and site.
Health and Safety training.
Problem-solving Skills.
Planning and organising.
Strong Interpersonal skills.
Experience in terminal and/or factory daily operations.
Experience in cementitious material movement - unloading imported cementitious ships and loading out of flat stores onto day silos and thereafter to road tankers.
Pneumatic ship unloader and terminal product movement
This working hours can vary week to week. You will be on a rolling shift basis of 0500 – 01400 or 1000 – 1700. When a vessel in in then this will go to 12 hour shift either day or night shift and will go over weekends depending on the Vessel arrival.
