Electrical Shift Lead – Continental Shift – Historic Building – Kings Cross, London – up to £50,000

My client is seeking an Electrical Shift Lead based in a historic building in Kings Cross, London. The ideal candidate will be electrically biased (C&G / NVQ) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. Working alongside the onsite maintenance team, the successful candidate will perform electrical, mechanical, and fabric maintenance. The company offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000, along with further training and career progression opportunities.

Hours of work

Continental Shift – 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6 off, 4 days – 07:00am - 07:00pm / 07:00pm - 07:00am

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lighting installation, fault-finding, lamping, changing ballasts, control panels, power distribution
• Emergency lighting maintenance
• Air conditioning - air handling units / fan coil units (filter changes, cleaning)
• Chiller resets
• Water treatment (temperature checks, not dosing)
• Plumbing - unblocking toilets
• Pumps and motors maintenance
• Water treatment
• BMS system monitoring (e.g., hot & cold)
• Conduct toolbox talks, workplace assessments, and audits as required
• Manage holiday, sickness cover, and HR issues, including appraisals of shift staff
• Coordinate training plans with management
• Supervise the technical M&E shift team and senior technical representatives out of hours
• Act as point of contact for technical service delivery
• Plan and manage workload, scheduling works based on priorities to meet SLA targets, and escalate concerns
• Ensure effective communication during shift handovers via verbal reports, shift logs, email, and status boards

Requirements

• Electrically qualified at Level 3 (C&G, NVQ, etc.)
• 18th edition wiring regulations
• Ability to provide copies of trade certificates (essential)
• Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
• Multi-skilled capabilities
• Good communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Availability to start at 07:00 am on site
