Job summary

PRS is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to join our team at a prestigious educational institution in Whitechapel, London. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted service for students and staff.

The role includes planned maintenance, fault finding, testing, and repair of switchgear and control panels, plus maintaining emergency lighting, fire alarms, UPS systems, generators, and BMS-controlled equipment, while supporting

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installations.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified.
• Experience in electrical maintenance within a large-scale commercial, public sector, or educational environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on a shift pattern.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and responding to reactive tasks.
• Fault finding, testing, and repair of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, and control panels.
• Maintaining emergency lighting, fire alarms, UPS systems, generators, and BMS-controlled equipment.
• Supporting statutory compliance checks and maintaining accurate shift handover records.
• Working closely with internal teams and the client to deliver FM services.
