Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased) in Slough on a 4-on 4-off, 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights). The role offers a salary of GBP52,000 and responsibilities spanning preventative maintenance, boiler upkeep, and electrical fault finding across PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship, plus strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair skills.
• Experience with boilers/steam systems is advantageous.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA systems and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on fully automated production and packaging machinery.
• Maintain steam and boiler systems and site services.
• Follow PPM schedules efficiently and effectively.
• Perform electrical fault finding and modifications on PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and control panels.
• Conduct mechanical fault finding and repair; work with hydraulics, pumps, motors, and sensors.
• Work on drives, valves, and related electrical components; PLC fault finding.
