Electrical Shift Engineer – Permanent (Southampton)

Up to £52,000 + Benefits | Continental Shifts | Static Commercial Site

We’re working with a respected FM service provider to recruit a permanent Electrical Bias Shift Engineer for a static commercial facility in Southampton. This is a hands-on, technically engaging role within a high-standard, well-maintained site — ideal for someone who wants long-term stability and progression in a modern, professional environment.

The Role:
As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you’ll take ownership of all things electrical across the site — from fault-finding and testing through to planned and reactive maintenance. You’ll also support wider building services systems, working closely with mechanical colleagues as part of a multi-skilled shift team.

The Setup:

  • Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum
  • Shifts: Continental pattern (days & nights, 12-hour shifts)
  • Location: Static commercial site, Southampton
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical PPMs and reactive works (lighting, small power, emergency systems, etc.)
  • Fault finding, isolations, testing and minor installations
  • Supporting site-wide systems including BMS, HVAC interfaces, and backup power
  • Working within a multi-skilled team to maintain uptime and compliance
  • Keeping records and reporting in line with compliance standards

What You’ll Need:

  • Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, 2330, NVQ Level 3)
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • Experience in commercial building services maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on electrical issues
  • Comfortable operating within a shift environment (days & nights)
