Electrical Shift Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, Shift Rotation (Monday to Friday: 6-2, 2-10, 10-6)

Join one of the largest manufacturers in their field at their site in Middleton. We are seeking a time-served Electrical Shift Engineer to provide essential electrical maintenance on their production machinery. This role demands a high level of fault-finding experience and a strong electrical background. The ideal candidate will be able to work safely, independently, and possess some mechanical knowledge.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery to ensure continuous operation.
- Perform advanced fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical systems.
- Work with 3 phase motor control circuits, relay logic and control, and PLC fault diagnosis.
- Handle AC & DC variable speed drives, including fault finding on drives and drive control circuits.
- Utilize knowledge of various sensors (proximity, optical, etc.) and control systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Telemecanique).
- Read and interpret electrical drawings accurately.
- Process work orders through the MMS system, ensuring efficient workflow management.
- Prioritise tasks effectively, especially when faced with conflicting work priorities.
- Work flexibly within the team to meet strict deadlines and minimise downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold the 18th Edition IET wiring regulations certification.
- Qualified to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in safety circuit fault finding and diagnosis.
- Proficient in computer usage and capable of managing work orders through an MMS system.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to tasks.
- Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
