Job Description
Power Technician - £35,000 to £50,000 DOE - Multiple UK Locations
What's the opportunity?
We're recruiting for a Power Technician to join a well-established company delivering industry-leading services across the UK. In this role, you'll play a key part in the delivery of power and installation projects, ensuring systems are installed, maintained, and commissioned efficiently-with excellent service at every step.
This is a field-based role reporting to either the Project Manager or Team Lead, with a fantastic benefits package and a wide range of exciting projects to get involved in.
What you'll be doing as a Power Technician (but not limited to):
Performing start-up and commissioning on small to medium-sized power equipment
Working across single and three-phase UPS and power systems
Carrying out preventative and unscheduled maintenance
Supporting senior engineers on complex power-related activities
Installing and assembling power equipment across the product range
Attending client sites for meetings, surveys, and consultations
Training clients on how to use and maintain their installed systems
Resolving technical issues and escalating more complex matters when needed
Tracking, labelling, and returning faulty parts and logging all technical info
Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers
Supporting and mentoring junior or less experienced team members
Monitoring subcontractor performance and supporting project coordination
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving change
Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and on time
Following health and safety procedures and attending training as required

Key requirements:
Graduate calibre with a power/electrical-related qualification
City & Guilds Test & Inspection or equivalent
18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification
Strong background in power systems and field service work
Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting UPS systems
Comfortable working with single and 3-phase systems up to 100+ kW
Familiar with DC batteries and voltages between 200-800 volts
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience in IT/Data Centre environments
Confident assisting with electrical design and installation methods
Solid understanding of electrical component theory
