Job summary

Clear. in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join a specialist team. You will service, diagnose and repair diesel generators and related control systems across Northern Ireland.

The role requires 3+ years’ experience, relevant electrical qualifications, and a full UK driving licence. You’ll work on generator controls (ComAp/Deep Sea) and participate in an on-call rota with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

  • ONC/D, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Time-served electrical technician/electrician with 3+ years’ experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Experience with generator controls (ComAp and/or Deep Sea).
  • JIB/SparkSafe or recognised electrical certification.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and ancillary equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including control panels to component level.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Interrogate and program ComAp and Deep Sea generator controllers.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Support generator control system upgrades and new installations.
  • Provide initial fault finding remotely and on-site.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and attend breakdowns when required.
  • Occasional travel throughout Ireland, including overnight stays.
