Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division is supporting an established global business to recruit an Electrical Service Engineer. The role covers the North of the UK with occasional overseas work, focusing on installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of LV/MV switchgear at client sites across industries.

Qualifications

• Experience with LV/MV switchgear in industrial environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Install LV/MV switchboards.
• Perform site-based commissioning of LV/MV switchgear systems.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks and fault diagnostics.
• Liaise with clients and project managers to ensure project delivery.
• Provide technical support during and after commissioning.
• Carry out Site Acceptance Testing to customer specifications.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation.

Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are delighted to be supporting an established global business with the recruitment of a specialist Electrical Service Engineer as they continue to grow their team.

The Electrical Service Engineer will cover the North of the UK and also have the opportunity to work overseas. The Electrical Service Engineer is a really varied role and requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

The Electrical Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical switchgear equipment at client sites across various industries.

What the role involves:

• Installation of LV/MV switchboards
• Performing site-based commissioning of LV/MV switchgear systems, including functional testing, protection relay configuration, and system integration
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance tests, and fault diagnostics
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after commissioning
• Carry out Site Acceptance Testing to customers specifications
• Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports, test records, and documentation

Skills and experience required for the Electrical Service Engineer include:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technical background with a specific bias towards the installation, commissioning & maintenance of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgear and associated equipment within industrial environments
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
• ONC/HND in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with protection relays, SCADA, PLCs and automation interfaces
• Full UK Drivers License
