Providing assurance that the ScottishPower Safety Rules (Electrical & Mechanical) are being consistently and effectively applied across all business units and contractors, you will be responsible for rigorous auditing of staff and contractors in the Regulated business, addressing negative trends and implementing (where appropriate) corrective action.
Offering expert advice to the Networks Business Executive team and line management on electrical safety matters, you will contribute to the production, refinement and updating of electrical safety rules, procedures, and training programmes whilst supporting production and delivery of the Operational Training and Authorisation process.
You will also lead and contribute to operational safety incident investigations through their entire life-cycle including representing the company in legal processes where necessary
What you’ll be doing
What you’ll bring
Possessing Senior Authorised Person experience in a UK DNO or TNO or equ ivalent , you will be a proven technical expert, displaying good knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules associated policies, procedures and working practices.
Educated to HNC level (as a minimum) in an Engineering discipline or possessing significant compensatory experience, you will contribute to health and safety processes from a technical operational background in the energy sector, with specific focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
Additionally, you will have a track record in the drafting of technical reports with minimal supervision, be able to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges and identify relevant best practice in terms of safety rule compliance and implementation of improvements where appropriate .
