Position

Position Title: Electrical Quality Technician

Location: Paneltex Ltd, Somerden Road, Hull, HU9 5PE

Reporting to: Electrical Compliance Engineer

Hours of work: 40 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:00 to 14:00

Salary: £12.50 - £15.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Overview

Reporting to the Electrical Compliance Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and reporting the quality of electrical installations, fitted by Paneltex and third party installers, to customer vehicles. The role will involve working closely with Paneltex Production, Type Approval and Quality teams to identify installation conformity and report deviations to drive improvements in quality, delivery and customer satisfaction. Other duties will focus on monitoring and verifying new product or components streams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and OEM guidance.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work with internal Quality, Engineering, Type Approval, Production and Sales teams to understand and validate electrical install compliance.
  • Product/Component audit and verification activities.
  • Supporting new component on-boarding process
  • Identifying areas of concern to drive improvements.
  • Raising non-conformance reports (NCRs) to support containment, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Verifying the implementation and effectiveness of fault rectification activities.
  • Reporting internally on Installation Quality performance.
  • Follow company Health and Safety policies, and be aware of your specific responsibilities.
  • Comply with all relevant internal policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Handbook.

  • Relevant professional experience in an electrical quality role.
  • Understanding of current manufacturing processes.
  • A highly organised self-starter and logical thinker.
  • A strong work ethic with a desire to not just get the job done, but to improve the way the job is done.
  • An ability to deal effectively and considerately with a wide variety of individuals at all levels.
  • A flexible approach to work and changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who ideally already hold the following qualifications or have relevant equivalent experience:

  • Internal auditing qualification (ISO9001) would be beneficial.
  • Computer literacy skills, (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc..).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
