Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority, Culham, is seeking an Electrical Quality Systems Team Leader to oversee quality across electrical manufacturing and installation within the RACE portfolio.

You will provide practical electrical QA throughout design, build, testing and commissioning, lead the team, and ensure compliance with UKAEA site requirements and safety standards while collaborating with engineers, suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent with extensive practical electrical QA experience.
• Experience in electrical QA across manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge of electrical machinery, distribution systems and relevant quality standards.
• Experience with quality plans, test plans and QA documentation.
• Proven track record delivering electrical engineering projects and meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Flexible and proactive, able to work independently or coach others.
• Desirable: experience in safety-dominated environments.
• Desirable: people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical Quality Team, providing line management, coaching team members and defining standards.
• Own quality assurance across electrical systems within the RACE portfolio, overseeing electrical manufacturing and installation activities, leading inspections and approving supplier quality and documentation, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
• Develop and maintain Quality Management Plans, test plans and QA documentation across design, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning lifecycles.
• Provide technical leadership throughout design, build, testing and commissioning lifecycle; participate in design reviews and advise on hardware manufacturability.
• Support verification and acceptance of electrical systems with engineers and technicians to ensure compliance and right-first-time outcomes.
• Manage suppliers, subcontractors and external partners; define quality requirements and monitor performance.
• Identify and address electrical quality issues; resolve issues to ensure quality outcomes.
• Support project delivery, update documentation and ensure Health & Safety management.
