A little bit about your role:

Representing WSP’s leading Quality Services (QS) business group as a Quality Surveillance Engineer you will provide quality surveillance and management services to safeguard product conformity for our clients.

We are a global ISO 17020 “Type C” Inspection Body with a proud 40-year history of providing quality consultancy, audit, advisory services, and manufacturing assurance to the Energy, Industrial and Transportation sectors.

In this role you will:
  1. Undertake Inspection and Assurance tasks of Electrical and Electro-Mechanical equipment during manufacture
  2. Carry out audits of suppliers and processes
  3. Assist with the review, mark-up and approval of inspection and test plans, and manufacturing programmes.
  4. Ensure assignment activities are executed in compliance with client requirements, relevant contractual specifications and national/international standards
  5. Provide pivotal support to Project Managers with technical information that underpins the inspection and testing activities

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
  1. Detailed engineering experience gained within a Power Generation maintenance or service environment.
  2. Experience of Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance activities gained within a maintenance or service environment.
  3. Recognised craft apprenticeship training and formal engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, BEng, BSc or equivalent).
  4. Candidates will have Electrical Engineering experience in any of the following:
    • Transformers
    • Generators
    • Switchgear
    • Cables
    • Motors
    • Overhead lines

Other Attributes
  1. Our Quality Surveillance Engineers must be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to inspection and general problem solving as well as being confident in challenging manufacturers, clients contract partners or client representatives where non-compliance to project specifications may be identified.
  2. Detailed reporting is a large part of a Quality Surveillance Engineer's day-to-day activities. It is essential that all candidates are computer literate and are capable of producing coherent and highly detailed reports.
  3. A UK passport holder with ability to travel overseas to Europe, Asia, North America for a variety of key customers.
