Job summary

Mane Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to drive quality from pre-construction through to commissioning on major power and renewables projects in Aberdeen. You will own electrical quality activities across projects, coordinating with engineering, operations, commissioning, EHS and clients.

The role emphasizes delivery of ITPs, test packs, handover documentation and continuous improvement, with a focus on Right First Time and strong stakeholder leadership.

Qualifications

• ISO 9001 Auditor certification and auditing experience.

Job description

Are you an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer / QC Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on major Power & Renewables projects?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical QC Engineer to join a growing engineering and construction business in Aberdeen. This is a key position within the project team, responsible for driving quality performance from pre-construction through to commissioning and final handover.

You will take ownership of electrical quality activities across projects, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, EHS, Planning, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.

The Role

As Electrical QC Engineer, you will:

• Lead and manage quality control activities across electrical construction projects.
• Develop, implement and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated checklists.
• Develop and manage Test Pack Lists, system boundaries and testing requirements.
• Monitor inspections, testing and quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage snags, defects and quality issues through to successful closeout.
• Compile and review project test packs and handover documentation.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes.
• Monitor quality KPIs, project dashboards and supply chain performance.
• Support digital quality management through platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360.
• Monitor calibration certificates and inspection/testing equipment.
• Lead lessons-learned activities and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a strong Right First Time quality culture across project teams and site operations.

About You

We are looking for an experienced quality professional with a strong background in electrical engineering, construction or infrastructure.

You should have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent electrical trade qualification.
• At least 5 years' Quality Management / QC experience within an engineering and construction environment.
• ISO 9001 Auditor certification and practical auditing experience.
• Strong experience with ITPs, test packs, inspections, testing and project handover.
• Experience leading Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of relevant electrical and construction standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to provide technical guidance and quality leadership to project teams.

Desirable Experience

Experience within the Power & Renewables sector would be highly advantageous, particularly exposure to:

• HV / MV substations
• Transmission & Distribution
• HV / MV cable installation or jointing
• Major electrical infrastructure projects
• Digital quality management systems
• Power BI and project quality reporting
