Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority in Abingdon is seeking an Electrical QA Engineer for a 10-month contract (Inside IR35). The role focuses on producing electrical quality documentation and overseeing electrical design and implementation across remote handling systems within the RACE department.

The candidate will review schematics and BOMs, peer review layouts, interpret international electrical standards, and support project managers to ensure strict process controls and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering or technology degree or HND/HNC, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to understand electrical design and relevant standards.
• Extensive hands-on experience in build and installation of electrical systems.
• Able to interact efficiently with people in various situations.
• Produce high quality work to deadlines.
• Flexible working attitude; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical quality documentation for large complex remote handling systems.
• Overseeing planning, design and implementation of large complex remote handling systems across projects in the RACE department.
• Reviewing electrical schematics and BOMs for prototype and new operational equipment.
• Overseeing and peer reviewing high quality layout designs for equipment, enclosures and panels from schematics.
• Interpreting international regulations and directives related to the Electrical discipline.
• Supporting project managers to ensure process controls are followed and implemented.
