Electrical Project Manager & Qualifying Manager

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project & Qualifying Manager to support our continued growth. Based at our Head Office in Leicester, this role involves working closely with Bid and Project Management teams to coordinate the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities – Project Manager

• Lead and manage electrical projects from tender through to completion
• Attend site and tender walkthroughs to review drawings and identify risks/opportunities
• Coordinate design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Produce electrical designs using software such as Amtech
• Prepare and submit RFIs to clarify specifications
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing
• Conduct tender reviews, project handovers, and close‑out meetings
• Manage variations, pricing, and client approvals
• Maintain financial control and deliver projects within budget
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Input and manage data within Simpro

Key Responsibilities – Qualifying Manager

• Act as the designated NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor/Manager
• Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
• Oversee inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations
• Maintain company compliance with NICEIC standards and audits
• Provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to engineers and project teams
• Review electrical designs and installation practices for compliance
• Ensure proper documentation and certification processes are followed
• Lead NICEIC assessments and external audits
• Support continuous improvement in quality and safety standards
• Promote best practices in electrical safety and compliance across the business

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong electrical background (time‑served or equivalent)
• Proven experience in managing electrical projects
• Experience with Design & Build projects
• Strong client‑facing and communication skills
• Ability to manage workload under pressure
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Good understanding of construction sequencing and contracts
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

Essential (Qualifying Manager – NICEIC Requirements)

• Level 3 Certificate in Inspection & Testing (City & Guilds 2391‑52 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Demonstrable experience in inspection, testing, and certification
• Strong understanding of electrical compliance and safe systems of work
• Proven experience supervising or verifying electrical work

Desirable

• SMSTS
• Solar PV knowledge
