Job description

OLG Recruitment is currently looking for an Electrical Project Supervisor for our client located in Grimsby. This is a full-time, permanent position.

As the Electrical Project Supervisor, you will oversee and manage electrical projects at the site level. The ideal candidate must have Hazardous Area experience and be able to work away from home Monday to Friday.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage and deliver the company's contracts safely, with high quality, on time, and profitably, maintaining client satisfaction. Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and client requirements. Report safety, quality, commercial, or technical concerns to the Senior Representative immediately.
  • Conduct safety site audits using provided auditing & monitoring documents. Report findings to the appropriate Senior representative.
  • Hold weekly site update meetings to resolve grievances and queries, and conduct Toolbox Talks as needed. Ensure all issues are communicated and addressed promptly.
  • Set up site or office-based establishments professionally, ensuring communication systems and welfare requirements are met.
  • Review scope of works with the F.S.R., understand documentation, and follow procedures during project stages.
  • Maintain site documentation, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure all records and notices are understood, maintained, and delivered to relevant parties.
  • Coordinate with the F.S.R. and client on instructions for site variations and changes. Obtain written approval before proceeding with additional work or variations.
  • Record daily signatures from the client for hours, plant, materials, transport, and subcontractor expenditures.
  • Plan and coordinate personnel, plant, materials, and subcontractors to ensure efficient resource usage.
  • Provide information to enable invoice raising, including variations, and supply timely reports to administration staff.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the client and project team to discuss resources, address issues, and mitigate disputes.
  • Set objectives for field operatives and ensure timely achievement, emphasizing timekeeping and team performance.
  • Coach team members, address poor performance, and identify training needs.
  • Order materials and plant according to company policies, ensuring specifications, safety, and budget compliance. Manage site plant and storage.
  • Plan for project handover to ensure all requirements are met, including inspections and client acceptance.
  • Communicate complaints and snagging issues to the Project Engineer promptly.
  • Be hands-on with installation or inspections for projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years post-relevant experience
  • C&G/NVQ Electrical L3, L4, HNC (preferable, but experience may be considered)
  • C&G 2394/5 or equivalent
  • Technician or Approved Electrical status
  • BSth Edition or latest
  • DSEAR/ATEX Awareness
  • CompEx 01-04, preferably 05 & 6 (or equivalent)
  • Current Safety Passport
  • Valid driving license (penalty points to be disclosed)
  • Valid in-date Passport
  • Physically and medically fit for high-grade work
  • Good eyesight (with correction if necessary)
  • No criminal record or pending misdemeanors
