Electrical Project Manager - Cardiff

This position is suitable for an experienced Electrical Project Manager eager to work on significant projects, as well as for someone new to project management seeking to advance their electrical career into a management role.
The initial project involves managing a multi-million pound healthcare development in South Wales.
Essential: Commercial electrical installation experience.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- SMSTS certification (training provided if necessary).
- Experience in delivering electrical projects; candidates looking to step up are considered if they possess the right skills.
- Qualified Electrician.
- Valid driver's license.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The following are indicative duties; responsibilities may evolve to meet business needs.
- Receive and review tenders, discussing scheme parameters, design, agreements, finances, contracts, and schedules.
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery, including design, procurement, finances, and labor management, ensuring documentation is properly filed and up-to-date.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of specifications and drawings, plan schemes, procurement, and labor scheduling.
- Negotiate with manufacturers and subcontractors, ensuring best value and adherence to standards, including pre-let meetings and procurement checks.
- Coordinate with site managers on roles, responsibilities, H&S compliance, and PPE management.
- Ensure all operatives meet company policies and qualifications.
- Manage health and safety in full compliance with standards and guidelines.
- Oversee safety documentation and plant management, including ordering, protection, and return of equipment.
- Manage daily site operations, ensuring smooth delivery aligned with main contractor requirements.
- Attend and contribute to contractor and client meetings.
- Report progress and address potential issues regularly.
- Manage subcontractors' compliance with policies, safety, quality, and specifications.
- Provide necessary documentation and manage commissioning and handover processes.
- Ensure all project packages and as-fitted documentation meet contractual and client standards.
- Coordinate defect management, client handovers, and training sessions.
