Job Description

The Project Manager oversees ICP electricity and civils projects, working closely with project teams to ensure successful delivery on time, within scope, and to high standards. Requires experience in ICP or similar multi-utility sectors, focusing on electricity, with exposure to gas, water, and other utilities.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Supervise multiple teams of subcontractors, ensuring safety, timeliness, and quality.
  • Attend site and stakeholder meetings, providing guidance to optimize scope, cost, and efficiency.
  • Produce clear meeting minutes.
  • Manage multiple projects across clients, providing timely updates.
  • Oversee statutory applications, including Section 50 and traffic management plans.
  • Identify and interrogate utility networks on-site and apply for STAT plans.
  • Provide lead times and schedules for new electricity connections (DNO/IDNO).
  • Review network designs for optimal solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with NJUG, metering, and civils/street works standards.
  • Use CAT, Genny, and GPR devices for utility location verification.
  • Train and mentor team members.
  • Develop supplier relationships and monitor SLAs.
Account & Client Management
  • Manage client expectations, advising on technical solutions and costs.
  • Handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Build client profiles and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Attend relevant meetings and site visits.
Commercial Management
  • Ensure projects are commercially viable.
  • Review quotes, contracts, and proposals for errors and risks.
  • Manage supplier contracts, insurance, and liabilities.
  • Escalate issues and manage payments and variations.
Experience & Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Project Manager in ICP or multi-utility sectors, with electrical expertise.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical connections, with exposure to gas, water, telecoms, and civils.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, numeracy, and literacy.
