Job summary

Mitie is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for DNO/ICP projects at Staythorpe. The role covers managing electrical construction from design handover through commissioning, with strong focus on safety, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

You will review designs, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex electrical infrastructure up to 132kV. Hybrid working arrangements in Staythorpe are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum: HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in construction or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Experience in a NERS environment.
• Experience with electrical infra up to 132kV.
• Knowledge of HSE compliance in construction.

Responsibilities

• Review project designs and ensure readiness for handover to the construction team.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards, client ERs, and other relevant regulations.
• Manage and deliver construction projects from design handover to final commissioning.
• Develop and maintain the Programme of Works, providing weekly, monthly, and 3-month lookahead updates.
• Identify key risks and critical path activities to maintain project delivery timelines.
• Oversee site safety and security, ensuring compliance with CPP, F10, and HSEQ documentation.
• Support the HSEQ Manager in preparing RAMS, audits, and other safety documentation.
• Conduct QA checks, including pre-work inspections and post-completion sign-offs.
• Compile and collate test certificates, reports, and handover documentation.
• Lead and chair technical meetings with internal teams, clients, and DNO representatives.

Required Qualifications:Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Minimum: HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5+ years in construction or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience within a NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) environment.
• Strong background in the installation or project management of electrical infrastructure up to 132kV.
• In-depth knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, and substations.
• Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance in construction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., Revit) and CDEGS earthing modelling software.
