Job summary

Mitie is seeking an Electrical Project Manager focused on DNO/ICP duties to lead electrical construction projects from design handover through commissioning.

You will manage safety, quality, and stakeholder expectations while delivering on time and within budget, coordinating with design, construction teams, and client representatives across high-voltage infra up to 132kV.

Qualifications

• Minimum: HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5+ years in construction or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Experience within a NERS environment.
• Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, and substations.
• HSE/compliance in construction.
• Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review project designs and readiness for handover to construction.
• Ensure electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards, client ERs and regulations.
• Manage projects from design handover to final commissioning.
• Develop and maintain Programme of Works with weekly, monthly and 3-month lookahead updates.
• Identify risks and critical path to maintain delivery timelines.
• Oversee site safety and CPP/F10/HSEQ documentation compliance.
• Support HSEQ Manager in RAMS, audits and safety documents.
• Conduct QA checks including pre-work inspections and sign-offs.
• Compile test certificates, reports and handover documentation.
• Lead and chair technical meetings with internal teams, clients and DNO reps.

We're looking for an Electrical Project Manager - DNO / ICP who will manage electrical construction projects from design handover through to commissioning and completion, bringing strong technical, safety and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

• Review project designs and ensure readiness for handover to the construction team.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards, client ERs, and other relevant regulations.
• Manage and deliver construction projects from design handover to final commissioning.
• Develop and maintain the Programme of Works, providing weekly, monthly, and 3-month lookahead updates.
• Identify key risks and critical path activities to maintain project delivery timelines.
• Oversee site safety and security, ensuring compliance with CPP, F10, and HSEQ documentation.
• Support the HSEQ Manager in preparing RAMS, audits, and other safety documentation.
• Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) checks, including pre-work inspections and post-completion sign-offs.
• Compile and collate test certificates, reports, and handover documentation.
• Lead and chair technical meetings with internal teams, clients, and DNO representatives.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Minimum: HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5+ years in construction or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience within a NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) environment.
• Strong background in the installation or project management of electrical infrastructure up to 132kV.
• In-depth knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, and substations.
• Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance in construction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.

Desirable:

• Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., Revit) and CDEGS earthing modelling software.
