Job summary

Progressive Recruitment seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to deliver capital projects within highly automated industrial environments. The role covers ownership from concept to commissioning, with UK-wide and international client exposure and remote working options.

You will lead electrical/controls delivery, develop URS, review FDS, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure projects meet safety, time, and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Experience within Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation or EC&I
• Experience delivering projects within food & beverage, FMCG, manufacturing or industrial process environments
• Experience developing User Requirement Specifications (URS)
• Experience reviewing or approving Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA and process automation
• Understanding of electrical distribution, motor control and instrumentation systems
• Experience working with system integrators, OEMs and engineering contractors
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Practical and solutions-focused engineering approach
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK and internationally as required

Responsibilities

• Managing electrical and controls aspects of capital engineering projects
• Developing User Requirement Specifications (URS)
• Reviewing and approving Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
• Reviewing control philosophies and technical design documentation
• Coordinating electrical, controls and instrumentation activities
• Supporting automation and process control system implementation
• Managing engineering contractors, system integrators and equipment suppliers
• Client stakeholder engagement and technical leadership
• Site surveys and technical assessments
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Installation, commissioning and project handover activities
• Technical documentation, reporting and project governance
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
