This role is based on-site at the Harwell project for Mace MEP. You will be responsible for delivering building services engineering (mechanical, electrical, ventilation, and specialist systems), liaising with the client, main contractor, and consultants. You should be capable of managing multiple subcontractors and suppliers from a system engineering perspective.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Delivering within the project team, collaborating and coordinating with colleagues.
• Analyzing, rectifying, and managing the completion of MEP designs, utilizing engineering expertise and management processes.
• Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and managing interfaces between packages.
• Developing relationships with key stakeholders including the client, design, and construction teams.
• Identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
• Incorporating modern construction methods, digital technologies, and prefabrication.
• Implementing Mace's standards and project strategies.
• Contributing to net zero carbon goals by proactively managing associated emissions during delivery.

You’ll Need To Have

• Proficient knowledge of an engineering specialty (e.g., mechanical), including installation, best practices, and commissioning, to manage design, integration, and completion of assigned packages.
• Basic knowledge of other specialties (e.g., electrical) to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies, and build elements.
• Basic commercial management skills, including procurement, change control, and cost impact analysis.
• Proficiency in planning processes, critical path analysis, scheduling, and commissioning activities.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare standards relevant to construction packages.
• Understanding of quality assurance, system integration, and commissioning processes.
• Basic knowledge of digital engineering technologies or prefabrication methods.

You’ll Also Have

• Experience in the construction sector.
• Professional registration with CIBSE or IET.
• Coaching skills and support for team development.
• Ability to perform basic design calculations and analysis.
