Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron; a huge scientific facility designed to produce very intense beams of X-rays, infrared and ultraviolet light. The Diamond Accelerator Electrical Engineering team now have an excellent opportunity to join us as an Electrical Project Engineer. We look after the electrical designs for Diamond’s three accelerators and the equipment needed to make these work. The team work closely with all groups within Diamond to design and develop highly reliable electrical systems for Diamond and for the Diamond-II upgrade project.
You will need to use your skills to provide design input, capture requirements, produce project plans and progress projects within the team for a variety of different groups across Diamond, including Vacuum control systems, RF, Insertion Devices and Machine Protection Systems.
The Electrical Project Engineer’s responsibilities will include:
