Job description

Emtec Building Services is a leading national contractor with a highly skilled in-house workforce of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers. With a proven track record of delivering successful projects, we continue to provide innovative solutions that exceed our clients' needs. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at our office in Uddingston.

The Role

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will work as part of a team on exciting electrical installation projects in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Safely deliver work within allocated budget and timeframe, meeting client requirements.
  2. Manage sub-contractors, including invitations to tender and evaluation of tenders.
  3. Define the scope of work, specifications, programmes, and control costs of sub-contracted works.
  4. Collaborate with other disciplines, clients, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure a successful programme.
  5. Maintain knowledge of current building regulations, codes of practice, and legislative requirements.
  6. Check drawings for accuracy and buildability.
  7. Conduct site visits as needed.
  8. Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor on costs and variations.
  9. Monitor and report on programme and progress.
What We Are Looking For
  1. Experience in a similar role working on M&E contracts with strong electrical technical knowledge.
  2. Experience in planning and executing programmes for building services projects.
  3. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  4. Familiarity with AutoCAD, with the ability to read and interpret drawings.
  5. High level of self-motivation, organization, and dedication to meeting deadlines.
  6. Confidence and commitment to providing high-quality professional service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HNC or higher in Building Services Engineering or equivalent (not mandatory).
