Job Description

The Company is a manufacturer of low voltage switchgear. The position of Electrical Project Engineer would be based at the Company premises located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in the electrical design of LV switchgear and package sub-stations. These can typically incorporate items such as protection relays and power factor correction equipment. Some experience in the electrical design of control and monitoring systems, along with electrical schematic diagrams, would be beneficial. Knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable. Knowledge of MV switchgear, supplied by the Company as part of a contract, would be an advantage.

The main roles for this position include (but are not limited to):

1. Controlling projects from receipt of contract to installation and commissioning.
2. Responsibility for all commercial and technical aspects of projects.
3. Liaising with clients and their representatives.
4. Attending site meetings with clients and their representatives.
5. Liaising with suppliers to ascertain the suitability of electrical components for particular projects.
6. Liaising with the Company’s draughting engineers and production team.
7. Designing electrical control schematic diagrams is an advantage.
