Job Description:

We're looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networksteam based in Luton, working on our Thames Water framework.

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire - with travel to various sites and some home working.

Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility available, please discuss when you speak to us.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from design to commissioning.
  • Develop electrical designs according to Thames Water specifications and UK regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including mechanical, civil, and process teams.
  • Review electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, cable calculations, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), ATEX, and other standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience delivering electrical projects in water or utilities sectors.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems in treatment works, pumping stations, and MCCs/PLC panels.
  • Experience with LV electrical distribution, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Thames Water standards and safety practices.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations, H&S practices, and electrical safety legislation.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SCADA/Telemetry systems and control system integration.
