Job description

Would you enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our small schemes team based in our North division as an Electrical Project Engineer.

What you'll do

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for reactive and planned capital maintenance projects across various sites, including water recycling, water production, sewerage, and water distribution.

The project values range from £15,000 to £500,000. You will be based in the north area, covering Mendip, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, and Bristol.

Projects may include upgrading pumping stations, designing and installing inlet screen replacements, emergency wastewater treatment side streams, and clean water treatment process upgrades, covering a broad range of sites including Bio-Resource sites.

Your role will involve:

  • Optioneering, tendering, spend forecasting, project delivery, commissioning, authoring payments, and project closeouts
  • Collaborating closely with contractors and supply chain
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety and other statutory regulations during construction
  • Meeting company and departmental targets
  • Assisting in establishing budgets and obtaining approvals
What you'll need

Ideally, you will have a background in construction and/or water industry with experience in project management and working with external contractors.

A safety-first approach, good negotiation, and influencing skills are essential.

Additionally, you should:

  • Have a positive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Be well-organized, customer-focused, and a team player
  • Hold a technical level 4 (HNC) qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Be a professionally registered engineer (EngTech/IEng) or working towards registration; support is available for registration
  • Have knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Possess a valid driving license (a company car will be provided if you cannot use your own vehicle)

Mechanical or Electrical experience is beneficial but not essential.
