Job Description:

Role – Electrical Project Engineer

Location – Southampton

Purpose of the role:

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join Galliford Try within our Environment Business. You will be a key member of a team delivering schemes mainly for the Water Industry, including sewage and clean water projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work with the project team to ensure design, procurement, financial control, and site activities are successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering from inception to completion, utilizing in-house resources, site installation, and construction personnel.
  • Deliver Non Infra M&E Water Projects.
  • Oversee Design Management and Liaison.
  • Coordinate early site investigations with clients and project teams.
  • Produce and review health and safety documentation.
  • Procure materials and oversee factory, site testing, commissioning, and client training.
  • Participate in design reviews and hazard studies.
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop solutions.
  • Assist with project budgets and cost reviews.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare subcontract orders and evaluate variation claims.
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and ensure completion of Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Maintain compliance with standards and promote innovation.
  • Manage project programmes and health & safety standards.
  • Develop and finalize contract documentation, including as-built drawings and manuals.

About You:

  • Electrical ONC/HNC/NVQ or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in the Water Industry, particularly Non Infra Projects.
  • Knowledge of commercial and contractual aspects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Organized, professional, and customer-focused.
