Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking an experienced Electrical Production Engineer/NPI Engineer to drive new product introductions, electrical design support, and ongoing manufacturing process improvements in a fast-paced environment. You will deliver production engineering solutions, manage BOMs, support cross-functional teams, and lead Lean initiatives while ensuring quality, safety, and delivery targets.

The role requires reading CAD drawings, coordinating multiple projects, and mentoring apprentices

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in manufacturing/production engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical products and electrical/electronic engineering principles.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Ability to read CAD drawings and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept to production.
• Produce and maintain BOMs, item cards, and engineering documentation.
• Develop production-engineered solutions from customer requirements.
• Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing process.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality systems, and safety regulations.

The Role

As an Electrical Production Engineer/ NPI Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering production engineering solutions that support manufacturing operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, to specification, and with a focus on quality, safety, cost, and delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, support apprentices and junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

• The Electrical Production Engineer will support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through to production.
