Overview

Role - Electrical Power Systems Engineer

Location - Birmingham / Nottingham

Salary - Up to 40k

I am working with an established UK-wide Engineering consultancy. They are seeking a motivated Power Systems Engineer to join a specialist team working across complex, high-profile projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stage of their career to learn directly from experienced senior engineers who are committed to mentoring and developing the next generation.

About the role

You'll play an active part in projects from concept through to delivery - covering everything from early design and modelling, to site involvement and client liaison. The team works across major sectors including:

  • NHS hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Pharmaceutical sites
  • Universities
  • Large-scale real estate developments requiring significant grid connections
What you'll need

They're interested in candidates who are:

  • Degree-qualified in Power Systems (or similar), with a strong grasp of the fundamentals

  • Or from a contractor background with hands-on understanding of electrical infrastructure and systems

  • Curious, clever, and eager to learn - with a genuine interest in developing technical and practical expertise

  • Comfortable getting involved on site as well as behind the desk

Why this role?

This is not a pure desk-based design role. You'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, working on diverse and technically challenging schemes, while learning from industry experts. It's a fantastic chance to build a career in a supportive team that takes pride in its work and invests in its people.
