Job summary

A leading Defence organisation in Warton is seeking an Electrical Planner for a 9-month contract. The role involves translating design information into manufacturing processes and supporting aircraft programme scope development. Candidates should have relevant educational qualifications and experience with tools like SAPCAMS and CAD data manipulation.

Qualifications

  • Typically educated to HNC or completed a Craft/Technician Apprenticeship in Electrical Manufacturing.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and work effectively in teams.

Job description

Electrical Planner

Location: Warton Based

Rate: £34.99 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35

Contract: 9 Months initially

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Warton. The role involves 4 days on site per week.

Role Overview

The Electrical Planner will be responsible for electrical planning tasks, supporting aircraft programme scope development, and translating design information into manufacturing processes to support Loom Assembly / End Make data and installation, ensuring the original design intent is maintained.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop aircraft programme scope of work.
  2. Translate design data (CAD models, BOM, circuit drawings, specifications) into manufacturing processes.
  3. Generate manufacturing build instructions using SAPCAMS or equivalent planning tools.
  4. Support aircraft build production, including electrical looms, components, racks, panels, assemblies, and installation.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Typically educated to HNC or completed a Craft/Technician Apprenticeship in Electrical Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of work content and toolsets such as Loom Manufacture, Installation, Wire Testing, PLM Toolsets (preferably Team Centre 14), CAD data manipulation (NX / Catia), and Wiring Diagrams.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, meet schedules, and work effectively in teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with build teams and synthesising project information for stakeholders.
