The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of an
Electrical Operations Supervisor within a housing environment. Our client is ambitious and has a significant 5-year plan to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing ones to foster vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role:
- Manage and oversee the delivery of electrical installations, responsive repairs, and planned works, including inspection & testing, electrical works, heating installations, and full property rewires, aiming for first-time fix within budget.
- Act as a Qualified Supervisor (QS), maintaining high standards to review and sign off electrical certification.
- Update relevant stakeholders on work progress and escalate complex issues to management for remedial action.
- Ensure correct recording of inspection and testing results on certificates or reports.
- Validate, compile, and sign off reports and certifications, ensuring corrective actions are taken when needed.
- Maintain accurate records following company policies and industry standards, safeguarding certifications, and reporting any issues.
- Set out jobs from drawings and specifications, requisition materials, and ensure compliance and testing.
- Comply with health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Resolve customer feedback promptly to maintain high satisfaction, liaising with colleagues and customers.
- Optimize trade-staff deployment to meet service requirements, reviewing team efficiency and performance.
- Monitor area performance daily, review progress, and address variances from standards.
- Support team growth and development within Safer Homes.
- Participate in out-of-hours service, support the Senior Electrical Operations Manager, and cover in their absence.
- Undertake additional tasks as appropriate.
The Candidate will need to be:
- Demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills in electrical works or similar roles.
- Hold or have held a "Qualified Supervisors" position with a recognized certifying body (e.g., NICEIC or Napit).
- Have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent practical training in electrical installation work.
- Achieve Measurement 2 (AM2) and be a qualified Electrician with social housing experience.
- Possess qualifications including City & Guilds 2391, 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, 2330 Levels 2 & 3, or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation Work or equivalent.
- Have completed City & Guilds 2394 or 2395 in verification, certification, inspection, and testing of electrical installations or equivalent.
- Demonstrate practical knowledge of BS:7671 standards and inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations.
- Hold a full driving license and be able to travel using a personal vehicle efficiently.
- Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service.
Summary:
Full driving license required with vehicle access. This is a full-time, permanent position. An enhanced DBS check must be held or applied for.
