Job description
Overview

Electrical Operations Supervisor – Bracknell

Location: Bracknell

Salary: £49,675

Duration: Permanent – 37 hours per week

Role

To manage and oversee the delivery of electrical installations, responsive repairs and planned works including inspection and testing, complete electrical works, heating installations and full property rewires. Strive to achieve first time fix and operate within budget constraints. Act as a Qualified Supervisor (QS) maintaining the high standards required to review and sign off electrical certification. Update relevant stakeholders on works progress and actions taken; escalate to management in more complex cases to identify remedial action. Ensure inspection and testing results are recorded correctly on certificates or reports. Validate, compile and sign off reports and certification, ensuring corrective and preventative action is taken where required. Maintain records in accordance with policies and procedures, safeguarding all certification, and reporting loss, theft or misuse appropriately. Ensure items and records are available for inspection when required by NICEIC.

Set out jobs from drawings and specifications to establish project requirements, requisition necessary installation materials, and ensure compliance and test systems. Comply with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in accordance with BS7671, including appropriate use of equipment and PPE. Own prompt resolution of customer feedback including complaints within the area of responsibility to maintain high customer satisfaction, liaising with colleagues and customers. Optimise trade-staff to meet service requirements across the operating area, reviewing balance, efficiency and effectiveness against productivity targets. Undertake daily monitoring of area performance, reviews and progress reports, and take action on any variance from expected standards. Support growth and development of all team members within Safer Homes. Participate in out-of-hours service as a guide to the trades and liaison with the OOH call centre and escalation paths as required. Provide support to and deputise for the Senior Electrical Operations Manager in their absence, as required. Undertake any other tasks commensurate to the role.

Candidate requirements
  • Demonstrates supervisory/managerial skills within electrical works or similar role
  • Hold or previously held a Qualified Supervisors position with a recognised certifying body (e.g., NICEIC or Napit)
  • Previously a registered apprentice or equivalent training with adequate practical electrical installation experience
  • Acknowledged AM2 and a qualified Electrician with experience in social housing
  • Qualifications to include City & Guilds 2391, 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351/2330 levels 2 and 3 or NVQ 3 in Electrical Installation Work or approved equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2394 or 2395 in initial verification, certification, periodic inspection & testing of electrical installations or approved equivalent
  • Knowledge and competence in BS 7671 and inspection, testing and commissioning of installations
  • Full driving license and ability to travel to properties, often not served by public transport
  • Highly motivated, capable of working under pressure and prioritising workloads while maintaining customer service
