Job summary

SSE is seeking an Electrical CMI Network Designer to join our team in a role that spans design, consents, and construction oversight. You will visit sites across SSEN's South Distribution Network, ensuring schemes are compliant, feasible and delivered safely.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, prepare design deliverables, and ensure CDM compliance to minimize health and safety risks while supporting our Net Zero goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of design/consents/construction of LV to 33kV networks would be advantageous.
• HNC or above or relevant experience in a similar field.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience with the NRSWA code of practice.

Responsibilities

• Make network alterations, refurbishments and wayleave terminations from LV cables up to 33kV.
• Liaise with customers, land agents and authorities to achieve fit-for-purpose design, including site visits.
• Identify archaeology, ecological and environmental concerns before works start.
• Produce design deliverables (drawings, documents, access packages and PCI's) ready for handover with construction team.
• Ensure schemes handed to delivery are CDM compliant, reducing health and safety risks.
