Job summary

Contract Personnel Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established local food processing plant for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias. The role focuses on maintaining site equipment, fault finding and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires experience with PLC systems and automation, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

Recognised engineering qualifications or certifications in multi-skilled engineering.
Proven engineering experience within a food manufacturing environment.
Experience working with PLC systems and automation.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Maintain site equipment to support production efficiency.
Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
Monitor and optimise production processes for efficiency.
Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Record maintenance activities and equipment performance accurately.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
