Electrical & Mechanical Systems Technician – Government Facility

  • Location: Within commuting distance of U.S. Navy installations in Kitsap County, WA
  • Salary Range: $80,000 – $85,000 annually
  • Benefits: Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) with match, and more
  • Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

DAWSON is seeking a Electrical & Mechanical Systems Technician – Government Facility to support our Secure Brow System (SBS) Project in Kitsap County. This position involves performing routine inspections, maintenance, and emergency repairs across critical infrastructure systems including HVAC, lighting, and electrical components.

Candidates should demonstrate strong time management, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a proactive, self-starting attitude. This is a physically active role requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions, with routine walking on uneven terrain and carrying of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly and quarterly inspections using defined checklists
  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs of HVAC, lighting, doors, and electrical systems
  • Support refurbishment efforts by removing existing components and installing upgraded systems and materials
  • Respond to service calls, including after-hours emergency repairs as needed (24/7/365)
  • Maintain tool and parts inventory and ensure tools are properly maintained
  • Interpret system conditions, identify trends, and report findings to project leadership
  • Assist with cost estimating and technical input for proposals
  • Maintain a professional and client-focused work environment
  • Ability to interface with military personnel and government representatives in a professional manner.

Qualifications – Required

  • 3–10 years of experience in facilities maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems
  • Strong background in electronics and industrial electrical systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a government background investigation
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA safety certification
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Licensed electrician or journeyman credentials

Travel Requirements

  • Optional travel opportunities to support nationwide projects
