Salary: £33,063 - £38,404 + benefits supporting your finances, wellbeing, and family

The Role

SSEN Transmission seeks a skilled Electrical/Mechanical Fitter to support maintenance and inspection programs for the transmission network, working on critical infrastructure to ensure network reliability and contribute to renewable energy growth.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain electricity switchgear and plant up to 400kV, with training provided for full authorization.
2. Maintain power systems including switchgear, transformers, busbars, and associated equipment up to 400kV.
3. Inspect, repair defects, and assist with construction works ensuring value for money.
4. Prioritize safety, ensuring all operational work meets high standards.
5. Participate in standby duties for fault work with appropriate authorizations, ensuring compliance with regulatory rules.

Candidate Requirements

1. Experience with electrical network maintenance preferred but not essential.
2. Strong safety focus and high customer service standards.
3. Adaptable, energetic attitude to evolving demands.
4. Experience in HV with a Transmission or similar company, or relevant qualifications (City and Guilds Part 232, SVQ 3 Electrical, or SVQ Level 3 Mechanical).
5. Full driver's license and flexibility for overnight stays.
6. Holding SSE CAT 1,2,3 advantageous; full training provided for mechanical backgrounds.
