Job summary

Air Products is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the European Industrial Gases electrical team, based in Chertsey or Rotterdam, overseeing 10-12 engineers and guiding more than 450 electrically qualified personnel.

You will provide Technical Authority, develop, install, commission, and ensure safe operation of electrical systems across facilities, while partnering with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and professional registration where applicable.
• Experience leading electrical engineering and design activities.
• Experience with HV, MV, LV electrical systems and protective relays.

As the Electrical Manager in an operating environment, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, directly managing 10-12 Engineers and providing guidance and support to more than 450 electrically qualified personnel across the region.What you'll doAs Electrical Manager, you will lead the Electrical Engineering Team for European Industrial Gases supporting and upgrading our existing operating facilities. You will provide Technical Authority and governance to develop, install, commission, and ensure safe operation of electrical systems and equipment. You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to deliver practical engineering solutions, support operational excellence, and enhance reliability across our facilities. The role also involves overseeing electrical installation projects, mentoring colleagues, promoting electrical safety, ensuring compliance with EH&S and regulatory requirements, and reviewing engineering documentation and technical studies to maintain the highest engineering standards.You will apply your technical expertise to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across our Industrial Gases facilities in Europe, Central Asia, and IsraelWorking collaboratively with our Global Industrial Gases Electrical Community, you will contribute to the development of engineering standards, operational practices, and safety initiatives. You will partner with Global Centres of Excellence and colleagues across the business to share knowledge, support innovation, contribute to emerging technology initiatives, and help shape best practices for the future.Reporting to the Technical Director, European and African Operations, you will be part of a progressive and innovative organisation that values inclusion, respect, learning, and continuous improvement. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth while working alongside talented colleagues in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.What we're looking forYou will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and bring proven experience supporting operating assets within the industrial gases, petrochemical, or a similar process industry environment. You will have experience leading electrical engineering and design activities, specifying inspection and condition-monitoring requirements, and configuring protection relays.You will also bring:Strong technical knowledge of High Voltage (HV), MV, and LV electrical systems.Experience with motors, generators, switchgear, protection and control systems, transformers, variable speed drives, UPS systems, and hazardous area equipment.Experience across engineering, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and fault-finding activities.The ability to prioritise, organise, and coordinate work effectively.Experience developing and improving ways of workingExcellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for mentoring and supporting others.A willingness to travel internationally as required.We welcome applications from individuals who are curious, thoughtful, and committed to making a positive impact.
