An opportunity has arisen to appoint an officer into the position of Electrical Manager, who will be responsible for the delivery and management of Lift Servicing, Lift Breakdowns, Lift Renewal, and the replacement of Major Lift Components.

The key responsibilities of the Service Manager will include:

  1. Managing the day-to-day delivery of a monthly Lift Service programme, lift breakdowns, and trappings;
  2. Ensuring contractor adherence to lift breakdown and trappings times as per the contract;
  3. Delivering lift modernisation and refurbishment programmes, applying project and contract management skills from development to final handover;
  4. Monitoring contractor KPI performance and ensuring high standards in lift works;
  5. Leading meetings with stakeholders, providing updates suited to the audience;
  6. Monitoring budgets, forecasting spending, and controlling overspends;
  7. Managing staff performance and development;
  8. Writing reports such as minutes and other documentation;
  9. Building positive relationships with contractors and consultants to ensure a high-quality lift service across the borough.

Candidates should have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Lift Industry, relevant regulations, guidelines, legislation, and practical experience in lift maintenance and inspections;
  • Experience in procuring lift contracts is desirable but not essential;
  • Understanding of the impact of regulations like the Building Safety Act on lift services;
  • NVQ3 Lift & Escalator qualifications, including EOR/202 Basic Lift Safety and EOR/205N Basic Service Lift Safety;
  • Relevant project and/or contract management qualifications;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise and negotiate with stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in creating and using spreadsheets for programme delivery and budget monitoring; familiarity with Google accounts is desirable but not essential.

This role requires working in the office with potential for hybrid arrangements, subject to agreement.
