Job summary

OCS Group UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Operative to join the University of Sussex estate in Brighton. The role covers planned maintenance and reactive repairs across the campus, requiring proactive, safety-conscious candidates who can work independently or with teams.

Ideal applicants will have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition, and proven PPM experience. DBS and UK work rights are essential, along with strong timekeeping and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undertake a DBS.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, including PPM and reactive repairs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PPM tasks on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance calls and carry out fault diagnosis, repairs, and replacements.
• Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and reporting in line with regulatory and company standards.
• Liaise with site management and other trades to coordinate maintenance tasks effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, parts used, and follow-up requirements.
