Electrical Maintenance Technician - Plus 17.8% Enhanced Pay Rate
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical installations and associated systems.
- Organize resources, including labour, materials, and transportation, to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and keep detailed service records.
- Report defects in plant, equipment, and building fabric promptly.
- Supervise trade staff when necessary and provide guidance on technical matters.
- Participate in planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment remains in optimal condition.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow all safety protocols.
- Operate the Estates/Facilities management system, including completing job records and timesheets.
- Coordinate with ward and department managers to arrange access for maintenance tasks with minimal disruption.
- Ensure personal development through training, keeping up to date with new techniques and regulations.
Working Environment:
- Exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, body fluids, and sewage.
- Moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting and working at heights.
- Frequent concentration needed for fault-finding and interpreting drawings.
- Adherence to infection control protocols when working in clinical areas.
- Shift work and responding to failures/breakdowns as part of an on-call rota.
